TechCrunch editor and attorney Michael Arrington has an interesting piece up at TechCrunch today that Louis L. Stanton, the senior judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, issued an order that Google provide Viacom with every YouTube username, and its associated IP address, as well as the videos that user has watched on YouTube. Google must also provide copies of every video removed from Youtube, whether for DMCA notices or just because the user wanted them deleted.
Google had argued for user privacy, but Stanton said, such concerns are just “speculative.”
